![]() The good news for anyone already playing PSVR is that there’s no need to pay out for any extra kit.Īll you need to buy to access PlayStation VR games on the PS5 is the same PSVR headset and PlayStation Camera for PS4 required for the older console. Related: PS5 How do I use PlayStation VR on PS5? So, how will it work? And, what do you need to set it up? Keep reading to find out how to use PlayStation VR on your PS5. PSVR will even see improvements on the PS5, with select VR games expecting to see faster and smoother frame rates on the new console. Sony confirmed that the PS5 would be compatible with PSVR in an FAQ published earlier this month, revealing that “yes, PlayStation VR games are included among the thousands of PS4 games that are playable on PS5”. We loved PSVR on the PS4, awarding it a glowing five star recommendation in our review, and were happy to learn that the PS5 would continue to support the tech. At £299.99, it’s easily the most affordable of the big three VR headsets on the market, beating out the Oculus Rift by £100 and the HTC Vive by £300. PlayStation VR is Sony’s virtual reality kit designed to bring VR experiences to PlayStation consoles. But, what does the next-gen console mean for Sony’s VR headset? Here’s how to use PlayStation VR on the PS5. The built in sound it.ok.but headphones are considerably better imo. We’re just weeks away from the PS5 launch, leaving many gamers waiting at the door for their preorders to arrive. Now the base model has been increased to 128Gig from 64Gig it's not as big a difference but I find the extra space nice as I can have a jukebox of movies on the headset ready to go.Also it's better to use headphones with the Quest for movies. It was for me.I did also get the 256Gig version because that allows me the space to keep a collection of movies on the headset. If that's worth the cost of the headset to you is only something you can really say. All I can say is I have PSVR and used to watch 3D movies on that but now I only watch them on Quest 2 because the quality is much better imo. If you should buy one or not is completely a judgment call I'm afraid. My favorite is a large movie theater :) It feels like you have the entire theater to yourself :) There are a few different positions you can sit in depending how close you like to get to the screen. It has some really cool VR environments that you can watch movies in. Generally speaking the vibe I get is that if they launch it now it's not a selling point for anyone who hasn't already got the 3DVR movie bug, or is coming new to VR it just sounds like old tech and flogging a dead horse. 3D isn't dead, but it needs more people to discover it in VR and expect it in that format, the difference with 2D content in VR is pronounced and people notice it once they've been watching stereo 3D content. On the upside, as VR is taking off, all these companies do know the value of 3D movies in VR - I'm a VR consultant, and some of my clients are big media looking at bringing their catalogues to XR platforms. And even on the global front, things seem pretty dry all over, lots of hanging on forums and waiting for news of which non-UK version I'll be able to import and how much it will cost. I also import 3D movies like you and others here, which is exactly because there's bugger-all coming out in the UK these days. In fact, Shang Chi is only coming out from Amazon Japan in 3D, and sadly there isn't a separate subs channel for the foreign subs you'd see on-screen in the English cinema version (dunno how big a deal that is as I haven't seen the movie yet). The UK 4K doesn't include the 3D version. Excited! (but I won't be able to wait for the 3D version first, we'll be watching on D+ next weekend.)īut that's not a UK release dude. ![]() Game Discussions Previous AMAs PSVR Dev?
